A new menu item on your left, points to the cover gallery, which, as the name indicates, shows the cover images of papers from the lab. You can click on the images to get to the paper.
Proteins, Lipids & Water in the Gas Phase
Tuesday, 07 December 2010
A new review paper about our gas-phase simulation of biomolecules is online now . We also introduce a new analysis of protein in terms of hydrogen bondedness. The paper even features biographies for the authors, Erik Marklund, Daniel Larsson, Carl Caleman and David van der Spoel. Enjoy!
Marvin Seibert, Ph. D.
Thursday, 22 April 2010
On april 20th, 2010, Marvin Seibert successfully defended his Ph.D. thesis "Protein Folding and DNA Origami". Opponent for the faculty was Prof. Helmut Grubmueller, from Goettingen, Germany, who was present over a videolink using Skype. The ash cloud due to the volcanic eruption on Iceland thus had a direct impact on the defense. Anyway, congratulations to the new doctor of philosophy.
New Research Program
Thursday, 14 January 2010
From the first of January 2010 the group has moved from the molecular biophysics programme to the computational- and systems biology programme.
Proteins in Micelles
Monday, 02 November 2009
In some new papers this year we have expanded our description of proteins in the gas phase, by encapsulating proteins in micelles as well. This was first done for Myoglobin (paper by Yaofeng Wang et al. in Biochemistry ) and now for OmpA (communication by Rosmarie Friemann et al. in J. Amer. Chem. Soc .). Seems like those proteins are indestructible... ALong the same lines, Erik Marklund and others investigated the effects of temperature and solvation on protein dehydration (paper in PCPP featured on the inner cover ).
